Ranveer attracted controversy in February 2025 after he asked an inappropriate question to a participant at samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. In the show, he asked, “Would you watch your parents have Sex aur join in and stop it forever? His question attracted criticism from many netizens.

There after an FIR was lodged against him, Samay Raina’s Apurva Mukhija and the organizers of the show India’s Got Latent, with the Mumbai commissioner and Maharashtra women’s commission. Ranveer later released a video in which he apologized for his behaviour. Thereafter, he filled a petition in the supreme court seeking and urgent earring to dismiss the FIRs registered against him.

On February 18, 2025 the court guaranteed him protection from getting arrested and Restaurant him from doing any of other shows, including podcasts, on March 3, 2025, the court allowed him to resume making podcasts after he pleaded that livelihood of many of his employees depended on the income generated from the podcasts. As per sources, the solicitor General of UP appealed against this decision, however, the court procedure to grant him immunity.
